Kitame Camel Company was created after Ken Brunk and Fuad Latiff met in 2008 on the Stanley Livingstone Expedition, and later hatched a plan to provide transportation and camping on the coast of Tanzania. The company has 4-wheel drive vehicles and drivers available for hire for transportation around Dar es Salaam, safaris to local game parks, or a lift to the company's campground located near Kitame village. Contact us for more information on planning your trip to Tanzania.
Fuad is originally from Zanzibar Island and now lives in Dar es Salaam, the coastal capital of Tanzania, with his wife and two children. He is fluent in English and Swahili. Fuad works with the transportation of visitors for the Kitame Camel Company, and is available to set up your game viewing tours. He also works as a staff member of the Stanley Livingstone Expedition.
Ken is a native of Virginia who currently lives in the Shenandoah Valley, and spends most of his time crafting wooden equipment for the safari trade. He first experienced Tanzania as a three year resident of an Ujamaa village in the west of the country, near the Serengeti. While there he learned village skills such as hunting, thatching, and building with mud, as well as the Swahili language. He returned for another year to teach appropriate tool design at a farmer's training center in Kilimanjaro Region. He travels to Tanzania often and escorts friends and clients on photo safaris.
